The company's 350+ person design staff includes architects, facility planners, graphic/signage designers, landscape architects and building engineers. Our award-winning design expertise includes both new construction and renovation of existing buildings for aviation, commercial, industrial, institutional, higher education, justice, healthcare and sports facilities in the public and private sectors.

Engineering

Heery's engineering capabilities, an integral service of the company for more than 35 years, consist of comprehensive expertise in building systems including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and structural systems; fire protection engineering; energy consulting; land planning; civil and infrastructure engineering and commissioning. We provide engineering services to clients in the healthcare, recreation, commercial, education, government and transportation industries. Heery specialists are in leadership positions with the National Fire Protection Association and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, helping set industry standards and protocols in these crucial areas.

Interior Design

As one of the nation's most innovative interior design firms as evidenced by numerous design awards in the past five years, Heery's planning and design services have supported our clients by creating environments through space planning, spatial formation, finishes and furnishings selection, signage design, building systems engineering and facilities management. Our diversified client base includes Fortune 500 corporations, hospitals, sports authorities, hotels and retailers, law firms and public sector offices.

Program Management

Program management encompasses all phases of construction from pre-planning, budgeting and scheduling through design, bid and award, construction and move-in. As a pioneering developer of this service, Heery is recognized for a number of innovations in program management including procedures associated with cost estimating and analysis, scheduling and claims analysis. We manage $4 billion in contracted work annually on projects in the education, government, criminal justice, aviation, wastewater, corporate, industrial, healthcare and laboratory markets. In our role as owner's advocate/manager, we bring invaluable hands-on experience to the task of completing projects in the most productive, cost-efficient manner possible.

Construction Management

For more than 50 years, Heery International has been developing and refining methods and procedures to efficiently control time, cost and quality of an owner's construction program. Fifteen years ago, Heery secured its own bonding capacity and began to deliver construction management at risk services with a guaranteed maximum price, as well as design build services for total project delivery. We provide construction management services to clients in all markets including education, government, justice, sports and commercial industries, and have completed more than $1 billion in projects for which we have accepted the risk of construction.

Building Commissioning

Heery’s commissioning services provide critical whole-system reviews and oversight necessary for achieving optimum building performance. Our commissioning specialists are focused on the way all the technical sub-systems are integrated and supposed to work together. Our process starts in concept design and continues in phases throughout the project timeline to post occupancy monitoring. Heery’s commissioning services comply with those required by the Energy and Atmosphere section prerequisite and additional credit points for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. With clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and small private enterprises to healthcare organizations and federal, state and local government, we have provided commissioning services on more than 10 million square feet of space which represent more than $1 billion in capital investment.

Facilities Management

Heery International's facilities management specialists offer expertise to support all aspects of facilities. A multidisciplinary staff of professionals with diverse corporate, institutional and consulting experience provides these specialized services. Technical resources include computer-aided systems for data and graphics to support facilities planning, programming, scheduling, budgeting and space utilization. Heery was involved with the development of several Building Information Modeling demonstration projects, and is currently completing projects using this approach.

Design + Build

By providing design, engineering and construction management services, Heery delivers a unique combination of professional expertise to clients. We have combined these disciplines on numerous projects throughout the country, including hospitals, courthouses, educational facilities, sports venues, laboratories and offices. Working as a team, we are able to achieve considerable cost and time savings through effective communications, scheduling and cost management. Our experience in providing design plus construction services in-house enables us to provide the expertise, personnel and commitment to design and build a project on time and within budget.

Equipment Planning & Mgmt.

Heery services go beyond providing quality facilities on time and within budget. Our furniture and equipment planning & management services draw upon our knowledge of interior design, equipment and furniture selection, as well as scheduling, cost estimating/analysis and procurement to help clients handle fitting out their new facilities. For a typical project, Heery uses a four-phase process—inventory, planning, procurement and installation. Heery’s depth of expertise in this service comprises both the medical/laboratory sector as well as educational environments.

Real Asset Services

Heery’s Real Asset Services group works behind the scenes providing due diligence support on real estate transactions, as well as economical analysis of current or potential assets. The services enable our clients to make better, more informed decisions on buying, selling or leasing properties. A major part of RAS’s capabilities involve providing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) custodial duties, including maintaining real estate records, geographical information and indexing all assets.
