University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics

Madison, Wisconsin

Heery Design has been assigned multiple projects at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.  They include the ambulatory services building, OR/PICU expansion, heart center renovation/addition and cancer center renovation addition.

Ambulatory Services Building
The 118,000 SF ambulatory services building connects the hospital circulation system to an atrium which acts as a new entry to the existing "Main Street" clinics, It was also designed to serve as an organizing element.  Native Wisconsin materials of granite, limestone and wood are featured throughout the building.

OR/PICU Expansion
This 101,363 SF, four-story expansion/renovation extends above and below the hospital and clinics.  The expansion included the design of seven new "larger" operating rooms that met the contemporary requirements of inpatient surgeries.  Careful design allowed these new spaces to rely on an existing lift system from central services.  A strong focus on project phasing allowed the ORs to be used while the facility was under construction.
