University of Colorado Hospital
Aurora, Colorado
Heery has provided multiple services to the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), a large teaching and research center, since 2001.
When UCH embarked upon a major capital improvement plan that relocated its campus from Denver to the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in nearby Aurora, Heery provided furniture equipment planning and procurement. The first phase included the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion, the Cancer Pavilion and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute. Prior to the physical move, Heery cataloged the existing equipment, working with each department to determine which items would make the move and which items were to be replaced.
The second phase of the project was the expansion of the core hospital and the construction of a 12-floor inpatient bed tower. For this phase, Heery provided full medical equipment programming and planning services, as well as a survey of existing medical equipment. Heery facilitated scheduling and conducted department manager meetings to establish new equipment needs and budgets. With an equipment budget of over $25 million, the UCH purchasing department enlisted Heery to issue purchase requests in order to meet the construction schedule. The new bed tower opened in June 2007.
