Tennessee University System - Capital Projects Management
Statewide
As Tennessee’s statewide building program manager, Heery completed more than 50 separate assignments at six universities around the state. Individual projects ranged from $300,000 to $40 million, and Heery supervised more than $700 million in construction over the course of 15 years. Heery’s scope included libraries, classrooms, dormitories, parking structures, student and faculty recreation facilities, performing arts centers, football stadium improvements, research and laboratory facilities, agricultural pavilion/exhibition facility renovations, administrative space, infrastructure improvements and building system renovations.
As part of its responsibility to the state, Heery’s Board of Regents staff documents all savings attributed to Heery’s program management efforts. Heery saved the state $85 million on such items as elimination of many claims, identification of cost reductions, change order reductions, value engineering, utilization of unique solutions, CPM analysis and rescheduling of potential interferences in work sequence.
