Southwest Oregon Regional Airport

North Bend, Oregon

Heery provided project management and commissioning services for the new 22,000 SF, $18.3 million Southwest Oregon Regional Airport.  This project included the design and construction of a new terminal, major site improvements including new access, parking and rental car parking, a new apron for two gates connecting to an existing taxi lane (expandable in the future), along with installation of a new baggage system and a new 100-foot control tower.

The facility was designed as a three-story building, nestled into a hillside overlooking the airfield and surrounding landscape. A key design element was to maximize the view while keeping the building below the required FAA incursion zone. One side of the building is fully glazed to take advantage of the commanding view of the bay.

The project was delivered with a CM/GC contracting method and the total construction period was approximately 15 months.
