Rio Grande Critical Access Hospital

Heery provided complete architectural services from master planning and programming through construction administration for this 35,350 SF, $7.8 million dollar replacement hospital in Del Norte, Colorado.  It was the first project on a national basis funded under the Critical Access Hospital HUD 242 program.  The hospital provides complete healthcare services for the San Luis Valley region of Colorado. 

The hospital’s services include: 14 medical, surgical and critical beds; a 24-hour emergency department; a full service laboratory; an imaging suite with CT scanner, X-ray and ultrasound capability; a surgery department with one general service operating room and a special procedures room; and a complete central sterile supply department and various hospital support functions.  A 7,500 SF clinical building is currently under construction.  The 10-acre “greenfield” site has been planned for full department and medical office building future expansion capability.
