Pennsylvania Judicial Center

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Heery International is providing construction management services from the pre-construction phase, through the construction and move-in phases of the new nine-story, 340,000 SF Pennsylvania Judicial Center located in Harrisburg’s historic Capitol Complex.  The facility will serve as the administrative center for Pennsylvania’s Unified Judicial System housing the Supreme and Superior Courts of Pennsylvania, an office for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Judicial System of Pennsylvania.  It will contain office space for more than 500 employees, three Commonwealth Court courtrooms and a conference and training center as well as cafeteria and dining rooms, press/lounge facilities and underground parking.

The exterior and interior finishes on the new structure are of the highest quality, including a large quantity of highly detailed exterior stone work requiring “old world” craftsmanship.  Heery is performing a full range of services to execute this signature project on behalf of our client, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, including: design phase estimates, value engineering recommendations, design and constructability reviews, and full-time on-site construction inspections.  Heery is expediting the flow of information on the project by maintaining critical project information in a central project controls database and is increasing the energy efficiency of the building and lowering operational costs by providing the commissioning services for the mechanical, electrical and life safety systems. The project was completed in April 2009.
