Ohio School Facilities Commission
The State of Ohio
Since 1997 the Ohio School Facilities Commission has been the catalyst in rebuilding Ohio’s public schools, transforming deteriorating, overcrowded and inefficient schools into the quality learning environments that Ohio’s children deserve and need to succeed in the 21st century. Under the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program, the state provides a major percentage of the necessary funding and the districts must make up the difference with local resources. OSFC’s record of success in providing quality construction at a reasonable cost has been outstanding.
Heery is proud to have contributed to the success of OSFC’s Classroom Facilities Assistance Program. Heery has served continuously for ten years as construction manager for the OSFC’s building programs at nine school districts in the state. Since 1998, Heery has planned, coordinated and managed more than $400 million in K-12 school construction for OSFC. This includes new construction, renovations and additions for fifteen elementary schools, twelve middle schools and eight high schools, as well as vocational and support facilities.
On every program, Heery has been a catalyst in building strong, collaborative relationships among the school districts, the OSFC, the architects and other team members. The key has been open and effective communication with all stakeholders in order to create a trusted partnership.
