Monroe Correctional Complex - Washington Department of Corrections

As the Owner’s Representative/Clerk of the Works, Heery provided construction monitoring for several capital projects at the existing Monroe Correctional Complex. The primary scope of work included a new 200-bed Intensive Management Unit/Segregation Unit (IMU/SEG). Other projects included completing a new Special Offender’s Unit Management Building, and the emergency replacement of HWS/HWR piping at the Twin Rivers Unit. During the projects Heery monitored field work, reviewed change orders and evaluated schedule submittals.

Heery paid special consideration to security issues, site access, including personnel and vehicle movement. Thanks to careful coordination with owner personnel, the facility remained fully functional throughout construction.

The project achieved LEED Silver certification—the first offender housing project in the county to be awarded this designation.
