Lynnfield Public Schools

Lynnfield, Massachusetts

When the town of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, public schools needed educational facility construction expertise to help it navigate a four-school, multi-year building program, it turned to Heery.  Heery managed the $63 million building program, which included renovations and additions to three schools, as well as a new middle school.

The high school project was particularly challenging since it involved renovation of the building while classes remained in session.  The team divided the existing facility into phases to accomplish the work, the first of which was substantially completed in time for school to start again in January 2002.  This first phase involved installing new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, bringing the building into compliance with ADA standards, and giving this portion of the building a new feel with fresh coats of paint, plaster, and tile.  Phase 2 of the renovation was completed in the summer 2002.

The new 687-student middle school was constructed on the grounds of the existing middle school, which was demolished once the students and staff relocated.  The elementary school projects involved the addition of 18 classrooms total, as well as extensive renovation of both existing facilities.
