Intel Jones Farm - JF4 Sapphire & PDL labs

Heery provided inspection start-up and functional acceptance testing services on three new laboratories and a newly remodeled and expanded central utilities chiller plant for this Intel facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. The labs had specialized areas with existing fabrication tools that could not be impacted by the remodel work. The chiller plant expansion included the addition of secondary and tertiary chilled water systems, new cooling tower, new chiller and updating of control system for the three existing chillers.

All installation and testing was performed on live systems with the requirement that no construction-related interruptions were allowed to impact the existing end-user departments. To deliver the project on time under these conditions, the schedule required close coordination between design team, contractor team and tool owners. Heery provided all functional testing on the new systems, with great detail in the performance acceptance tests so as not to impact production. Heery provided solutions and worked closely with team members to overcome some of the initial technical observation issues and achieve a successful project. The project was completed in August 2007.
