Georgia Institute of Technology - Old Civil Engineering Building Commissioning

Heery International is providing commissioning services for the total renovation of the historical Old Civil Engineering Building at the Georgia Institute of Technology.  This 33,100 SF comprehensive renovation and rehabilitation of an existing historic building involves offices, classrooms, conference rooms, restrooms, and support space, as well as a new elevator. The project includes the  installation of new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, tele/data communication and fire protection systems.

Heery is responsible for commissioning the following systems:

  • Building Automation Systems including temperature and lighting controls
  • Utility metering systems and linkage to remote central monitoring and control site
  • Cooling system including campus chilled water entrance, pumps, piping and associated equipment
  • Heating system including heat exchanger, hot water pumps, piping and associated equipment
  • Air handling systems including air handling units, ductwork, terminal units, unit heaters, exhaust fans and other specialty fans
  • Equipment vibration control including chillers, boilers, pumps and fans
  • Smoke control systems including interfaces, egress pressurization
  • Fire alarm system
  • Security, access control and CCTV systems
  • Lighting control systems
  • Voice/data communications systems, including copper and fiber cable infrastructure
  • Public address systems
  • Power distribution system
  • Electrical system from the building entrance through the main switchboard switchgear and to the distribution panels
