Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

Edinburgh, Scotland

When the new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and University Medical School was handed over on time and on budget in April 2002, Heery International’s project staff was one of the reasons. As project managers for the development of the new 869-bed, £ 220 million ($345 million USD) facility, Heery managed the design of the project, monitored construction and coordinated the university and National Health Service Trust employees’ transition to the new facility.

The new three-story hospital is the main accident and emergency/trauma treatment center for the City of Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Royal Infirmary was developed by Consort Healthcare under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Concessions Contract.
