Eagle Healthcare Center - Master Plan and Medical Office Building
Eagle, Colorado
Heery developed a master plan and medical office building for a new community hospital and healthcare center, built as a joint venture between Vail Valley Medical Center and Valley View Hospital. The campus is located at the gateway to Eagle Ranch, a new town development community supporting single and multi-family homes, schools, community recreation and commercial uses.
With the initial phase complete, the master plan takes advantage of adjacent open space, bike trails along Brush Creek and expansive mountain views. After working closely with the Town of Eagle and planning/review committees, a vision was created that has become a focal point for the community.
The master plan culminates in 175,000 SF of healthcare facilities and up to 48 inpatient beds. It includes a 34,500 SF, two-story medical office building accommodating urgent care, primary care, imaging, pharmacy and physical therapy services. The concept for the medical center is based on an outpatient services model, with the phased implementation of obstetrics and inpatient beds in support of a growing population in Eagle County. It also includes the provision for long term care and assisted living in conjunction with connections to the hospital as well as the adjacent residential community and commercial center within Eagle Ranch. The floor plan is based on a “plug-and-play” module concept which will allow for incremental expansion and maximum exterior wall exposure for day-lighting and future expansion. The architectural design concept follows Eagle Ranch’s new town vernacular, incorporating traditional Western Colorado materials and forms and a sense of civic/community importance. The facility was completed in 2007.
