Department of Administrative Services (DAS) - Department of Environmental Quality Laboratory

Heery provided commissioning services for this 88,000 SF laboratory project for the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Health Department. The laboratory was a remodel of an empty shell and core development building located on a 5.9-acre lot and consisted of two, single-story structures – an office/laboratory building and an 11,000 SF auxiliary building and covered parking area. The facility houses 150 state employees, with analytical laboratories, support areas and offices for both of the agencies.

Heery’s commissioning services included commissionability (design features necessary to permit the functional testing and maintenance of the systems) and constructability reviews of the design intent document, as well as the design document and construction document drawings and specifications, site inspections, submittal reviews, functional testing, warranty review and training of laboratory staff.
