Atlanta Medical Center - Emergency Department Renovation and Expansion

Heery provided full design and engineering services to give this urban medical center greater functional efficiency  as well as a comprehensive systems upgrade and optimization within a limited footprint. This in-town hospital emergency room commonly treats patients for trauma: heart attacks, loss of breathing ability, loss of consciousness and/or multiple injuries. The phased renovation and expansion included 17,700 SF of expanded emergency and pharmacy department services. The emergency department included three trauma bays, five fast track rooms, 10 exam/treatment rooms, eight observation/monitor rooms and one psychiatric holding room.  Features include new reconfigured walk-in and ambulance entrances, decontamination facilities, isolation rooms and the installation of a new stand-alone HVAC system for the emergency department.
