Atlanta Equity

Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta Equity, a private equity firm focused on investments in growth companies primarily in the Southeast, hired Heery to design its 6,100 SF offices in downtown Atlanta.  Leasing space in the prestigious 191 Peachtree building,  Atlanta Equity’s boutique office offered a jewel of a project to develop.

The major challenge for the project was reconciling the very divergent tastes of the partners, from extremely traditional to very contemporary.  The solution was looking at a transitional balance where both styles could live harmoniously.  Taking cues from the stripped down classicism of Biedermeier furniture and the tonal variation and beauty of high-end wood veneers, the interior design began taking shape.   The rotunda-shaped entry creates a strong sense of arrival further reinforced by the hardwood medallion of dark and light wood.  Rich materials are used within the space to speak to the high-end clientele of the firm.

Further contrasting these elements, the furniture is light and contemporary in feel referencing mid-century classics, with the fabrics providing shocks of color within the very neutral interior.  The progression into the main office area transitions from the warm, intimacy of the reception area to a space that is very transparent and open.  The offices are punctuated by the wood-surround portals at each door, which references Biedermeier case goods and are treated like pieces of furniture.

The overall feel achieved is a balanced eclecticism, running the gamut from very traditional, through transitional to contemporary. The rich materials used in the interior finishes reflect the high-end financial services rendered by the firm.

Subsequent to the grand opening of the initial office space in late summer of 2007, Heery Interiors also designed an expansion space of approximately 4,200 SF, which opened in summer 2008.
