Education K-12

As the world’s leading K-12 construction program management firm, Heery International helps both public and private institutions improve learning environments. With the experience of more than $22 billion in K-12 projects within 185 school districts worldwide, Heery’s delivery strategy has helped many of the biggest programs in the country run smoothly, as well as improved schedules and increased value on single-school assignments in smaller districts. Healthcare

Heery focuses on delivering superior healthcare projects for specialty hospitals and clinics, community and acute care hospitals, academic medical centers, outpatient ambulatory care clinics and medical office buildings.   In October 2004, Heery International acquired HLM Design, complementing Heery’s 25-year track record of healthcare expertise with the talents of the HLM Design team, which had focused on healthcare for more than 40 years.  The combined group has been responsible for approximately $4 billion in healthcare projects for more than 100 different clients, and has won dozens of awards for the design, program management and construction management at risk of healthcare facility projects.

As specialty services to the healthcare market, Heery also offers medical equipment planning and management, transition management and logistics, building commissioning and design + build.

Higher Education

Justice

Heery's experience in the justice market is both broad and deep.  The firm provides planning, design,  engineering, construction management, design build and commissioning for courthouses, courts complexes, justice centers, 911 facilities, and incarceration facilities ranging from specialized maximum security to medium to campus-style minimum security.  On the courts side, Heery has been involved in nearly $2 billion in courts facilities around the United States for municipal, county, state and Federal government clients, and is a leader in integrating security very early into the architectural design of a project.  Projects include new courts facilities, historic restorations, renovations and large additions to existing facilities.  Heery’s portfolio for jails and prisons is equally impressive, including more than $3 billion in projects ranging from juvenile detention facilities, women’s units, county and city jails, full-scale prison complexes and law enforcement facilities. Heery is a long-time member of the National Association for Court Management, the American Correctional Association and the American Jail Association.

Laboratories

One of Heery’s first projects as a company involved laboratories at the University of Georgia for the Department of Agriculture. Since then, the firm has continued to plan, design, construct and provide facility and construction program management services for various types of laboratories, including those for supercomputers, pharmaceutical research, electronics development, drug and food analysis, explosives and product testing, as well as research facilities required for academic medical research. Recent projects have included the home of the world’s fastest supercomputer for Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a new multi-building campus headquarters for the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Sports

Millions of fans and athletes around the country enjoy the benefits of the expertise provided by Heery’s sports facilities team.  Heery’s 45-year-old sports practice provides planning, design, engineering, construction management and design-build for university/collegiate venues, as well as professional facilities.  Known for creating a home field advantage on their clients’ facilities, Heery’s sports facilities specialists have completed more than 220 stadium and arena projects worth more than $3 billion.  Heery’s broad sports portfolio includes colleges and universities of all sizes for whom the firm has completed arenas, team facilities, tennis and soccer stadiums, natatoriums and practice fields and arenas. Among the firm’s clients are Big Ten, MAC ACC, SEC, Big 12, Pac Ten and Big East conference teams.  Signature professional sports facilities in Heery’s portfolio include the 1996 Olympic Stadium/Turner Field and the Georgia Dome.
